Antonio Bolfo: ‘NYPD Impact’

Antonio Bolfo was a photographer before he was a cop. He’s a born and raised New Yorker who joined the NYPD in 2006. Bolfo, who has a degree from RISD, said he joined the force in response to feelings of patriotism following Sept. 11th and general boredom (at the time he had a job doing animation for Playstation games). Once he was put on the beat in South Bronx projects, Bolfo began bringing his camera to work in hopes of documenting the job and capturing images of the emotional and physical strains that come with it.
